Rockstar's return to the wild west has been a long time in the making, and now only a few months stand between fans and the release of Red Dead Redemption 2. The game is almost certainly going to be a massive hit, and it's just as certain that there will be plenty of copies available for purchase come launch day. However, for those who want the extra security of a pre-order or who simply enjoy getting some extra goodies, then Rockstar has got that covered...sort-of.
Pre-order bonuses for Red Dead Redemption 2 were detailed today, but it's not a particularly substantial list:
- The War Horse
- The Outlaw Survival Kit
- Cash Bonus in Red Dead Redemption 2 Story Mode
- Bonus $500,000 to spend in GTA Online
- An exclusive treasure map in Story Mode for those who pre-order before July 31
Red Dead Redemption 2 is already a highly-anticipated blockbuster, so a pre-order probably isn't necessary for securing a copy on day one. It's good that substantial content isn't getting gated behind a pre-order here, but one can't help but wonder if it will really tempt those who weren't already planning on pre-ordering.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will release for PS4 and Xbox One on October 26.
