Tomorrow sees Koch Media's first-ever Koch Primetime livestream, and while many were expecting a big announcement from Deep Silver (though they have since informed us that their biggest franchise will be absent), it turns out the big surprise is an entirely new publishing label altogether. Dubbed Prime Matter in order to evoke a material with no predefined form that's flexible and take the form of several other substances, something versatile with a lot of variety, et cetera, Prime Matter is a part of Koch's multi-label strategy, creating it in response to an ever-growing industry continuously filling up with creative talent that can always use a new home. While Prime Matter will be based out of Munich, the developers they work with comes from all over the globe, with a range of games that runs the gamut from AAA to "triple indie." So what games will they have, exactly? Well, a dozen of them were revealed, including...

Payday 3 from Starbreeze, the latest game in the popular first-person heist series that will expand upon the ongoing narrative and sees you heading across the US in a "Hollywood-like environment" as a new member joining the game. It won't be due out until 2023, though.

Crossfire: Legion, the latest game set in Smilegate's Crossfire world. Developed by Blackbird Interactive, it will be an RTS that boasts "a unique approach to futuristic global warfare and warring factions" that is set to come out next year.

Gungrave G.O.R.E., the latest third-person shooter in the Gungrave series, comes from South Korean developers IGGYMOB, and while not a lot has been shown yet, it should be another bullet-filled bit of mayhem for fans when it comes out in 2022.

Dolmen has been in the works since 2016, with developers Massive Work Studio crafting a third-person action-RPG game that merges the worlds of science fiction and Lovecraftian cosmic horror in world that wants to make you feel like you've been forgotten. It's also aiming at a 2022 release for PC and consoles.

Like others here, expect it in 2022 for PC and consoles.

Finally, a new Painkiller game is finally arriving in conjunction with Saber Interactive!!...And that's literally all of the details we have so far, outside of a single screenshot/bit of art that we don't have access to right now. But hey, like Timesplitters, at least we know it's finally coming!

In addition to all of this, legacy games such as Phoenix Point, Wasteland 3, Outward, Iron Harvest, and more will now be a part of Prime Matter as well, and will be further published under the label. According to Koch CEO Klemens Kundratitz, “I see Prime Matter as a new home for premium games that offer our partners both current and future all the expertise of Koch Media with a new, dynamic, fresh and powerful team dedicated to maximizing their true potential." So far, what we have seen does look intriguing, and we'll have more details on these games after the Koch Primetime event tomorrow night, so stay tuned.
