Those with 3DTVs and PS4s can rejoice.  Sony has confirmed that 3D Blu-Ray support will finally be added to PS4 next week.  Sony Tweeted that Firmware Update 1.75 will introduce the functionality to the console, and that it will launch sometime next week.

Sony was a strong supporter of 3D a few years ago with the PS3, but lost interest due to low adoption rates of 3DTVs.  While the PS3 continues to support the format, Sony did not launch the PS4 with the functionality.  It is good that Sony is adding more features to the PS4.  The hugely popular console has received no new features since March 2014 with ShareFactory.  This is in stark contrast to the Xbox One, which has received new features every month.  In fact, the Xbox One is set to get 3D Blu-Ray support this month as well.

We'll let you know when Firmware 1.75 goes live.
