Raven Software Drops Full Details for Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific’s New Map

Raven Software has finally lifted the curtain on Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific’s new map, Caldera.

Starting December 8, owners of Call of Duty: Vanguard can finally drop into Caldera (everyone can hop in starting December 9). After nearly two years, Warzone is finally saying goodbye to Verdansk and ushering in a new experience. Caldera takes players to the Pacific where you’ll encounter lush jungles, World War II military installations, urban environments, plenty of water, and whole new ways to lead your squad to victory.

Much like Verdansk, Caldera is divided into distinct areas ripe for exploration. In total, there are 15 main areas to explore with hundreds of lesser points of interest to investigate. Take a dip in the Lagoon, get a birdseye view from Peak, or take a stroll across the Capital. It’s a whole new world for players to explore.

December 8 also marks that day that all Vanguard content integrates with Warzone Pacific. That includes all 38 base weapons plus the two free weapons coming with Season 1, all current Operators and new ones coming soon, and all personalization content.

It also marks the start of the new Vanguard Royale mode, which features a few differences from the traditional Battle Royale options. First, Vanguard Royale features new vehicles and dogfighting. New fighter planes, AA guns, and new ground-base vehciles are exclusive to this mode. It also limits all loadouts and Operators to Vanguard.

In addition to the new content, Warzone Pacific drops with a some major changes to the gameplay. After winning the Gulag, the winning player drops back into the map with the equipment used in that fight. Dead Silence is getting a nerf and Stopping Power Rounds are being removed. Gas Masks won’t interrupt actions as much as they previously did, and offer some protection from the brand new Gas Canisters. While swimming won’t make an appearance in Warzone Pacific, players will be able to wade through shallow water and throw fire-based equipment to create smoke. Finally, expect some new contracts and public events to populate the map.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific launches November 8 for owners of Vanguard and November 9 for everyone else on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
