Razer has announced that its Kraken Ultimate gaming headset will be getting some very important technology implemented. THX Spatial Audio will be making its way onto the headset going forward. This technology allows for pinpoint precision that is tied in with 7.1 Surround Sound audio. This will be powered by custom-tuned 50mm audio drivers. This will be in combination with the noise-cancelling microphone that the Kraken Ultimate already features. Sound from the THX Spatial Audio technology simulates a 360 degree sphere for better awareness for players.
“We have built the Kraken Ultimate to address the needs of gaming audio at its roots,” said Alvin Cheung, Senior Vice President of Razer’s Peripherals business unit. “Powered by THX Spatial Audio, its custom-tuned drivers deliver superior sound, housed in signature Kraken comfort. Combined with an active noise canceling microphone for crystal-clear team comms, this headset has the winning edge that gamers are looking for.”
Razer has also announced the Kraken X USB. This allows for green earcup lighting for the headset that goes along with 7.1 Surround Sound. Both headsets including the cooling gel technology for the ear cups for ultimate comfort for long play sessions. The Kraken Ultimate is available for $129.99 while the Kraken X USB retails for $59.99 and both are available now from the Razer website and authorized retailers.
