HyperX today announced that soccer star Raphaël Varane has become a gaming brand ambassador for the manufacturer.

According to the company, the Real Madrid defender will now be featured in different marketing and branding campaigns in 2019.

HyperX expressed its excitement about the announcement by saying that the Frenchman is an “eager gamer” and that he enjoys playing FIFA, Call of Duty and Fortnite.

“I am thrilled to become part of the HyperX family and to join this amazing group of talented ambassadors,” Varane said.

“HyperX has some exciting projects planned for 2019 and it is great to be part of this brand and community.

“Gaming is a part of my everyday life; it helps me disconnect when I’m not training or playing, I’m therefore thrilled to be representing a brand in this space with such quality products.”

Paul Leaman, the vice president of HyperX for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, added: “With the recent announcement of Marco Reus as brand ambassador and now Raphaël Varane, the HyperX family is expanding.

“We want to show that no matter which platform you use to game -- mobile, PC or console -- we are all gamers.

“This is just the beginning of 2019, with lots of announcements to come during this year to help develop the HyperX brand and grow our business.”

Varane had a fantastic 2018 with the Spanish soccer side, capturing the UEFA Champions League trophy after a 3-1 win against English club Liverpool in the final.

With his fourth Champions League honor to his name, the 25-year-old center-back continued his trophy-winning ways in last summer’s FIFA World Cup in Russia when France defeated Croatia 4-2 in the final.
