Open world action game, Red Dead Redemption has sold more than 14 million copies since its launch in 2010, according parent publisher Take- Two Interactive.
Sharing the figures of the Shareholder Outreach document, Take-Two said that the western sandbox game, “rejuvenated the western entertainment genre” and said that the game’s expansion, Undead Nightmare was “commercially successful.”
Since Microsoft announced backwards compatibility for Xbox One at E3 a few months ago, Red Dead Redemption has been one of the most requested games to join the current roster of supported titles.
Red Dead Redemption originally launched May 18, 2010 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and was met with critical acclaim. The game’s expansion, Undead Nightmare launched a few months after and had a positive reception as well.
