Since the moment the console versions were announced, Switch owners have been waiting for news on just when the hybrid console will be getting its own version of Redout. Today, Nicalis announced that the super-fast futuristic racer will hit the eShop on May 14. Like the other console versions, it will be the Lightspeed Edition with all of the PC version's bonus tracks and vehicles. The core game fits in perfectly with Switch, which already has FAST RMX as its go-to futuristic racer right now.

Redout takes after Wipeout a bit more than F-Zero, but is far more forgiving than the former and about on-par with F-Zero when it comes to overall difficulty. It's a very user-friendly game with a ton of content. With the addition of all of the DLC, you get 28 vehicles usable on over 200 events. It will release at a price of $39.99 - so if you already have a version of the game, it may be tough to justify spending full-price on it right away. However, having a game of this high a quality on the go for futuristic racing fanatics may make it worthwhile. If nothing else, it will be fun to have both Redout and FAST RMX on the same device.
