The time draws near. The non-participants are huddled under their beds while the brave and foolish stake out spots along the path. Racers idle at the start line ready to tear through the countryside like their hair is on fire, in hopes of causing their opponents hair to actually be on fire. Carmageddon: Max Damage is so close to the green light.

As a retooling of the flawed Carmageddon: Reincarnation, developer Stainless Games LTD has gone a long way to making sure that this update resolves the issues found previously, while bringing in a whole new audience via PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Needless to say, I am incredibly excited for the game to launch July 8.

Carmegeddon Max Damage 2

People who already have a Steam copy of Reincarnation will receive the game at no cost as a make good for the previous issues. In the meantime, the game will be launching for all three platforms for forty dollars. Considering it will be packing thirty vehicles, sixty events, and more than ninety different power ups, this looks to be a bargain. Of course, we'll need to get hands on the full version and review the darn thing before we can be certain, but hopes are running high over here. In the meantime, here is a video from Stainless to set the mood.
