Capcom has revealed that Resident Evil 7 biohazard sales have surpassed another milestone worldwide.

The company's latest financial results included an update on how well it's games have sold, including Resident Evil 7 biohazard. Last time we got an update, Resident Evil 7 was sitting at around 3.5 million units worldwide. Today, Resident Evil 7 has sold 4.1 million units worldwide across PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

While still behind the sales of predecessors 5 and 6, Resident Evil 7's sales are strong enough to make it the eighth best-selling game in Capcom's history. Who knows, maybe in a few years it's sales will surpass that of 5 and 6.

Resident Evil 7 biohazard launched back in January as a soft reboot for the franchise. Though the game was a continuation of the ongoing story, it featured new characters, a new setting, and a new first-person perspective. Rather than focusing on action, 7 took the franchise back to it's horror roots. A Gold Edition is set to launch in December and will come packed with all previously released and upcoming DLC.
