Adult Swim Games announced via Twitter that "Pocket Mortys," a Pokémon game based off of the popular and critically acclaimed Adult Swim animated comedy series Rick and Morty, will be out January 14. Fans of the Rick and Morty cartoon may recognize the many nods and references the game has which reflect its surprisingly flexible and silly universe. The expansive and ridiculous premises introduced by each episode of the show in fact easily accommodate the absurd events of the game.

Series co-creator Justin Roiland also tweeted more content from the game that you can see below, confirming along with other co-creator Dan Harmon that the game will be releasing on iOS and Android devices. Speaking of, Dan Harmon is also confirmed to have a voice-over role in the game as well.

Senior Producer Chris Johnston tweeted a very important fact about the game and that's that it will be available for free. Pocket Mortys will get schwifty January 14 on iOS, Android and on the floor. It's sure to at least be better than Pirates of the Pancreas, which got a little too... realistic.
