Taric's rework has finally seen the light of day and we now know what he's got in store for the rift. No longer the Gem Knight, he's now been ordained as the Shield of Valoran and is sticking true to his name.

Though he's been reworked his role will remain the same. The short on his new abilities: After casting any ability Taric's passive allows him to gain attack speed, damage, and lowers his cooldowns; he has an area-of-effect heal that stores three charges; can link with a partner extending his heal and giving them a shield; has a delayed short skill shot stun; and--what's sure to be everyone's favorite--has a ultimate that after a short duration grants all ALLIES invulnerability from attacks. That last one is important because unlike Kindred's ult this will only affect teammates.

Along with new abilities he's also now sporting a Brutal Legends with a glorious mane and gems in tow. You can read up more about his champion update and see his new look here. If you're interested in his new lore you can read it here. For now he's headed to the PBE battle ground where everything will be smoothed out before his big debut.
