Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain voice actor Robin Atkin Downes confirmed on Twitter that he has landed himself the role of the main protagonist in Insomniac Games’ upcoming Edge of Nowhere.

While it’s unknown whether Downes will only be contributing his voice to the role or if he’s doing the motion capture as well -- the latter being something he’s done for past projects -- he did say that he is “Very proud” to announce his involvement in Edge of Nowhere and assume the role of the title’s hero, Victor Howard.

Edge of Nowhere was first announced at the Oculus Rift press conference earlier this year, with Insomniac Games’ third-person action-adventure title being an exclusive for the VR headset.

“Travel to the far reaches of the Antarctic mountains in search of a missing expedition team,” reads the synopsis for Edge of Nowhere. “What appears to be a rescue mission takes a turn as you venture into the deep unknown and discover a surreal world that will test your wits and sanity.

“Scale towering mountains and use makeshift weapons to survive and avoid descending into madness. In Edge of Nowhere, nothing is what it seems and the unexpected lurks from all sides.”

Earlier this year, Downes revealed that he had secured a role in Naughty Dog’s highly anticipated Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, having previously been involved in Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception and Uncharted: Golden Abyss.

Insomniac Games is yet to confirm an official release date -- or release window -- for Edge of Nowhere.
