This morning, EA Sports made history by having Ronda Rousey as the cover athlete for their second UFC game. Before the first game's release, we thought it would make sense to put Rousey on the cover and make a big statement about the history of UFC at that time changing with female fighters being added to the company's roster. Instead, EA went with a fan vote and lost that to Miesha Tate, who then lost in her bracketing for that honor.

It was the first UFC game with female fighters (real ones, not the fictional ones featured in early UFC games) and instead of Rousey, Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson were chosen. Now, Rousey is the first female on the cover of an MMA game in the genre's 15+ year history in gaming. EA Sports UFC 2's cover athlete goes to war this Saturday against boxer-turned-MMA fighter Holly Holm on November 14 at UFC 193.
