Activision Blocking Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on PS4 Share Play?

The PlayStation 4 Share Play feature has been getting plenty of criticism after appearing with the new PS4 Masamune Firmware update, but it seems one game is earning a notable amount of controversy with Share Play.

Multiple reports are claim that when using Share Play on the PS4 version of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, the following message is appearing instead of the typical Share Play footage:

“The host’s game screen is not displayed because the current scene is a blocked scene for Share Play. Wait until the blocked scene is finished.”

The message is normally used by developers to hide screens that could show personal information like usernames, passwords or financial information. Sony gives developers the option to block footage of specific scenes in a game when Share Play is activated. According to reports, it seems that Activision has used the feature to block footage of Advanced Warfare entirely.

While it has been confirmed that Advanced Warfare has a region lock for Share Play use, the reports are coming from gamers who aren’t just in the same region, but in the same neighborhood.

Could Activision be outright prohibiting Advanced Warfare footage from Share Play? Keep posted with Hardcore Gamer as the story develops.
