This past week, a countdown clock debuted on GOG hyping up a new publisher coming to the service and showing off the fonts of Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and Monkey Island. Today, a GOG user went through and found listings for a variety of LucasArts games set for an October 28 release date. These include Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, TIE Fighter: Special Edition, X-Wing: Special Edition, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, and Sam and Mix Hit the Road. In some cases, like with Knights of the Old Republic, they've been available on Steam for a while. However, many  of these games haven't been playable on modern OSes before, so it's great see that a whole new generation of PC gamers will be able to appreciate classics like these.

Each game has been earmarked for a $10 price point, and it would seem like this is just the first wave of releases. While some may want everything available on day one as that's a pretty natural thing to want, by making them $10 each, it's probably better to space things out so it doesn't appear to be a giant cash grab. The price may seem high for some potential players just looking to test out some historic games, GOG does make things DRM-free, so there's a bit of a cost attached to that given the risk of piracy.

Another benefit to just doing a wave of releases every now and then instead of throwing everything out at once is that you won't wind up with a flood of modern-day playable classics out there at one time to folks who aren't going to actually support the product. This could just be a partial listing, or it could be everything we'll see officially released tomorrow. Either way, we'll update you all as to what comes out and if there are any sales offered up. Given that this is a big release and something that they gave a lot of hype to, maybe they'll do a two for $15 sale or a gigantic bundle that effectively makes a couple of games free.
