Really excited for Halo 5?  Well don't expect it in 2014.  Instead, you can expect to relive the events of Halo 2 as an HD Remaster.

In an interview with GameZone, Steve Downs, the voice actor for series protagonist Master Chief, accidentally let slip that Halo 2: Anniversary Edition is the Halo game releasing in 2014.  “I think you may be ahead of yourself on Halo 5,” Downes said. “I wouldn’t expect anything until 2015. What you can look forward to this year is an anniversary edition of Halo 2.”

Microsoft has not confirmed or denied what Steve has said, but this news follows last month's huge Xbox One leak where numerous titles, including Halo 2: Anniversary Edition, were revealed by a purported insider.  It also helps knowing that 2014 is the ten-year anniversary of Halo 2 and that Microsoft has already confirmed that a Halo title will launch in 2014.

It is currently unknown who is developing the HD Remaster or what platforms it will launch on.  However, its safe to bet that the game will at least be released on Xbox One.

We'll let you know should Microsoft respond or announce anything.
