Sega Ages Space Harrier, Puyo Puyo Launch for Nintendo Switch Today

Two more classic Sega titles have made it onto the Nintendo Switch. Starting today, fans can put their shooting and puzzling skills to the test with Sega Ages Space Harrier and Puyo Puyo. Both games offer the zaniness and challenge characteristic of titles from the late 80’s and early 90’s, so choosing one is really just a matter of what kind of challenge one is looking for.

Space Harrier is one of the more unusual shootings one could choose to play. Obstacles and enemies fly at players head-on instead of from either side of the screen, and they can be anything from bugs to Easter Island heads. Oh, and the player character is a floating dude with a big gun rather than something more sensible like a ship.

Puyo Puyo on the other hand is a Tetris-esque puzzle game that’s managed to last almost as long as its blocky competitor. Instead of creating lines with blocks, players instead need to make groups of the same four colors and create combos. The more groups one makes in sequence, the more one’s opponent’s play field will fill with junk puyos; once it fills up all the way, they lose!

Sega Ages Space Harrier and Puyo Puyo are available now on Nintendo Switch.
