In 2017, Sega Europe began their Searchlight program, an initiative designed to seek out promising Western developers to collaborate with. They then came across Two Point Studios, whose Theme Hospital successor Two Point Hospital became a huge success last year. We loved it, other critics, loved it, fans loved it. And now, as a culmination of this team-up, Sega Europe has acquired Two Point Studios, officially making them part of the Sega family.

"It's a landmark step for Two Point Studios and we're thrilled to be joining the SEGA family. We're looking forward to executing the next phase of our plans as we continue to evolve Two Point County,"said Two Point co-founder Mark Webley. It's unknown right now exactly what evolutions will indeed result from this yet, though. More content for Two Point Hospital? Other simulation games in the same universe? Something else entirely? We'll just have to wait and see, but for now, Two Point appears to be in good company, sitting alongside the likes of other successful Sega Europe franchises such as Football Manager, Total War, and many others.
