The Sega Genesis is one of the most revered consoles ever - and the recent retail release of the Genesis Flashback console from AtGames has led to a new wave of nostalgia brewing for Sega's 16-bit behemoth. Sega has announced a compilation coming to both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One that brings over 50 of its games to physical and digital storefronts. A final game listing wasn't showcased, but based on the trailer, it looks like a healthy assortment of Sonic the Hedgehog games will be featured alongside Streets of Rage games, Golden Axe, Shining Force, and Phantasy Star will be included. Hopefully, entire franchises are covered - and it would be great if we get some pure arcade versions in this compilation as well. The PS2 and PSP Genesis-branded collections had some, along with some neat extras like interviews - so ideally, this would be a definitive Genesis collection for first-party stuff. We'll know more as time draws closer to its May 29 release date.
