Eidos Montreal today announced that development on Shadow of the Tomb Raider is over and that game has gone gold.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the third entry in Square Enix's rebooted Tomb Raider franchise, is nearing it's final release. Developer Eidos Montreal took to Twitter today to reveal that the game has gone gold, meaning that development has concluded. Shadow of the Tomb Raider now heads to the next stage of the process, manufacturing, where the game will be printed on Blu-Ray discs before being shipped to stores.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider follows Lara Croft as she leads an expedition to Latin America looking for a Mayan Relic that has some connection her father. Meanwhile, paramilitary organization Trinity follow her to take the relic and use its power to reshape the world. Eidos Montreal (Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Thief) takes over development duties from Crystal Dynamics who are now working on an Avengers project.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is out September 14 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
