Shadow Warrior 3 Pushed Back to 2022

You can’t fault Devolver Digital for their showing during this year’s E3 back in June — a publisher punching well above its weight (as it so often has over the years) with new game reveals left and right, alongside some returning faces slotted in-between. One of said faces was Developer Flying Wild Hog’s long-awaited third instalment in the Shadow Warrior series, Shadow Warrior 3. The last trailer providing a bit more gameplay footage, but sadly no concrete release date. And now it seems we know why previous trailers have been fairly vague with today’s news that the game won’t be releasing this year at all. Shadow Warrior 3 having now been pushed back to release in early 2022.

The bright-side to all this though is that the game’s publisher, Devolver Digital, weren’t shying away from the fact today’s news was very much an announcing the game’s delay. As opposed to providing an “update”, an image on social media and calling it a day The game’s latest trailer is even referred to as the “Official 2022 Delay Trailer” so some tongue-in-cheek humor at least. Shadow Warrior 3 is planned to release across PS4, Xbox One & PC. It’s one of two games currently in development at Flying Wild Hog — the other of course being side-scrolling samurai title Trek to Yumi. It too planned for release sometime next year for PS5, Xbox Series X/S & PC.
