Wayforward's next installment in the endearing Shantae series, Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, is set to launch on the 3DS eShop on October 23, as confirmed by Nintendo in their recent IndieCade announcement.

The Wii U version, however, is set to be released at a later date in 2014. After successfully passing Nintendo's pre-check, the game's highly anticipated release is just around the corner.

Wayforward is also working on Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, which will release on Wii U, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS Vita, PlayStation 3 and PC.
