NetherRealm Studios today dropped the first gameplay trailer for Shao Kahn in Mortal Kombat 11.
Shao Kahn was one of three characters confirmed for Mortal Kombat 11 when it was initially revealed. However, it was also revealed that he’d be a pre-order bonus. As such, it’s not surprising we haven’t seen any gameplay until now. After all, NetherRealm did the same with Goro and Darkseid in Mortal Kombat X and Injustice 2 respectively. With launch so close, however, it’s finally time to see some Shao Kahn.
The trailer showcases a man who is quite fond of his hammer and speak. Shao Kahn wields both weapons with deadly precision to shatter his enemies. It’s quite fun watching him break his most ferocious enemies; Raiden, Liu Kang, and Kung Lao. Also, watching him fight his successor, Kotal Kahn, is a fun addition. Unfortunately, the only way to play as Shao Kahn is to pre-order the game or purchase him standalone. It’s a shame NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment are still holding characters hostage (both Goro and Darkseid were also held hostage in their games).
Mortal Kombat 11 is out April 23 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch.
