It wasn't plain sailing for Wolf Brew Games' innocently-clear homage to the likes of Castlevania, with its own 16-bit side-scrolling effort, Slain. A slew of poor design choices, artificial difficulty and unfortunate glitches meant the original release in March 2016 came off as fairly disappointing given the ambition and stride to replicate the look and feel of those fond SNES-era classics. The studio later intentionally re-released it under the sub-title Back From Hell with a number of the original's issues ironed out and amended.

Now the re-release is making its way onto Nintendo Switch, releasing next week on December 7. The game has previously been available across PC, PS4, Xbox One & Vita.
