It was only in early December just gone that Sony announced that their VR headset, PSVR, had hit its latest milestone having sold two million units worldwide on top of their current-gen console's possibly-unassailable lead of 70 million PS4's sold. But in the case of the former, while there are already around 150 VR and VR-compatible releases available for the peripheral, Sony aren't intending to rest going into the new year. Speaking to Nikkei, Sony confirm that they plan to publish an additional 130 games for the device across 2018, bringing the total number of VR titles in Sony's library to roughly 280 -- around an eighty percent increase on the total at the end of 2017.

The company put this down to both increased confidence in the technology from developers/publishers as well as the decision to lower the asking price for the head-set, from its initial introductory of $399/£349/€399 when it originally launched in October 2016. This confident and strong support for their own VR headset only adds to what many will rightly bill as another competitive year with which Sony will aim to dominate in, via upcoming first-party titles and exclusives for their home console, the PS4.
