Sony to Stop Selling all DriveClub Content in 2019, Servers Going Down in 2020

Sony Interactive Entertainment today confirmed that support for DriveClub is ending soon.

DriveClub was Evolution Studios’ first and final project for the PS4. Sony heavily promoted leading up to the launch of the console, though they ultimately delayed to 2014. At launch, the game’s online components barely worked. However, Evolution eventually fixed the game, and it turned out to be quite a good racer. That won’t matter soon once Sony shuts down the servers.

The publisher revealed that online servers for DriveClub, DriveClub VR, and DriveClub Bikes will shut down on March 31, 2020. Those who still own the game can continue to play the games offline, but all multiplayer functionality will be gone. That means no more Club, multiplayer matches, events, earn multiplayer sophistries, or view leaderboards.

To add insult to injury, Sony will stop DriveClub, DriveClub VR, DriveClub Bikes, and all available DLC on PlayStation Store after August 31, 2019. If you want to try the game or nab those last few multiplayer trophies, make sure you get it before that date.
