South Park: The Fractured but Whole has been delayed into the first quarter of next year, Ubisoft have today announced in an update on their blog. Though the post doesn't go into much depth as to the reasons behind the delay, Ubisoft state that it's to allow the developers "to make sure the game experience meets the high expectations of fans and the additional time will help them achieve this goal."

The game was previously suspected to release sometime this December. On the bright-side, The Last Guardian's similarly recent delay means there'll be at least one anticipated game players can [hopefully] enjoy leading up to this year's festive period. Whether the shifted release of Sony's upcoming exclusive has had anything to do with today's announcement from Ubisoft -- so as to avoid direct competition -- remains to be seen.
