The long-awaited and many times delayed South Park: The Stick of Truth has suffered yet another delay.  South Park was set to launch early December, but now we'll have to wait until March 2014 to get our hands on the final product.

Ubisoft announced that sad news via their Ubiblog.  “Within three weeks after acquiring the game, we sadly realized we had to turn this thing upside down if we hoped to deliver the experience everybody wanted,” says Ubisoft North America’s president Laurent Detoc. “It’s been such a major overhaul to get to the point where we are that we couldn’t let it go, even if that meant missing December.”

"We always wanted the game to feel like you’re actually in an episode of South Park,” say Matt Stone and Trey Parker. “Getting the game up to the crappy standards of the show has been a real challenge and we’re excited to say it’s taken way longer than we thought it would.”

The Obsidian Entertainment developed RPG was originally supposed to launch Spring 2013, but original publisher THQ filed for bankruptcy in December 2012 and thus putting the fate of the game in jeopardy.  Ubisoft scooped up publishing rights in the THQ assets auction and pushed the date back to sometime in 2013.  It was only a few weeks ago that they announced a December 2013 release date.

South Park: The Stick of Truth is out March 4, 2014 in North America and March 6, 2014 in Europe for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
