SquareCells is the latest minimalist logic game produced by Matthew Brown (you might know him from the Hexcells trilogy). Now available on Steam, it proves an interesting mix of Picross and Hexcells.

Like Picross, you've got a grid with numbers that offer hints as to how many blocks are filled in each row. Unlike that well-known puzzle title, the completed screens do not make an image. However, Brown has added new rules that offer up more challenges to solving the puzzles.

There are 36 levels in SquareCells and it is available on Windows, Mac, and Linux for $2.99 on Steam.
