EA and DICE confirmed that changes are coming to Star Wars Battlefront II's progression system, but players are going to need to wait a while longer.

Star Wars Battlefront II players have been waiting for changes since the game's controversial launch. Specifically, changes to the game's intrusive Loot Boxes and lack of progression were most requested. Well, two months after launch, we have confirmation that changes to the progression system are on their way, but we're going to need to wait till March.

Writing on the Battlefront II blog, DICE confirmed that changes are on their way. In addition, the developer revealed some additional goodies they're working on, including a brand new limited time game mode and a new Season:

  • A revamped progression system
  • A game mode called Jetpack Cargo coming in February – Two teams of eight players equipped with jet packs compete in Jetpack Cargo, a frantic, fast-paced way to play. This mode will only be available for a limited time, so don’t miss it.
  • A new Season coming soon

No word on what the revamped progression system or next season will be. However, it has long been rumored that the second season would focus on the Clone Wars and would specifically include Obi-Wan Kenobi, General Grevious, and a Utapau map. As it currently stands, the Clone Wars era is the least represented Star Wars era in Battlefront II, something a new Season would likely correct.

As for The Last Jedi Season, more players chose to side the The First Order over the Resistance. However, Finn turned out to be more popular than Captain Phasma. It'll be interesting to see if that stays the same now that Finn has been nerfed.

Star Wars Battlefront II is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. We'll let you know if DICE makes any announcements concerning the progression or next Season.
