Over the years, Steam has secured its spot as the go-to digital platform for PC players, and if this past weekend is any indication, that won’t be changing anytime soon.

Back in March 2020, Steam managed to reach a then-record of over 22 million users online at the same time, after having surpassed twenty million earlier that same month. This past weekend, Steam reached another milestone after it saw just shy of 27.2 million concurrent users on Saturday, followed by just under 27.4 million users the next day on Sunday. The most surprising fact about this impressive feat is just how few of those users were actually playing games, with just 7.8 million players registered at each of the peak times.

Part of this new record can likely be attributed to Steam’s ongoing Autumn Sale, which continues to run until December 1 at 10 AM PT.
