Steam Hit With DDoS Attacks, Lizard Squad Possibly Guilty

Just days after Xbox Live went down and Lizard Squad claimed responsibility, the same exact scenario is playing out with Steam. As can be seen here, the majority of Steam servers are down including over half of the general servers in the United States, Steam Community Steam Web API and more.

Lizard Squad acknowledged the attack an hour ago, stating “Woops. There goes 2 million steam users.”

Subsequent tweets continue claiming responsibility, but Valve has been silent about the outages. We’ll follow the story and update with more information as it becomes available.
