Fans of the Street Fighter comics are in for a treat now that UDON Entertainment and Visionborne have come together to produce a special edition of Street Fighter Origin: Akuma on the Visionbooks platform.

For those unfamiliar with Visionbooks, they are essentially digital comics that are enhanced with a variety of animations and special effects. According to Erik Ko, founder of UDON Entertainment and publisher of the Street Fighter comic franchise...

“We are really impressed with the atmospheric effects that Visionborn can apply to comics. It works perfectly in the world of Street Fighter and does a brilliant job of capturing the intensity of each scene.”

Francesco Scrufari, Visionbooks co-founder, went on to say...

“With our technology, we ultimately wanted to create something new, engaging and dynamic for the world of comics. We love the Street Fighter adventures and we are tremendously pleased to bring them to life as Visionbooks.”

Readers who don't do Visionbooks can still check out the new variant covers for Street Fighter Unlimited #3, which is now up for pre-order. Writer Ken Siu-chong and artist Joe Ng return with guest writer Adam Warren of Empowered and artist Omar Dogan of Street Fighter Legends. The main story follows Guile, Cammy, and Alex on their trip to Spain, where they confront Vega and his friends. Meanwhile, this issue's bonus story sees Karin throwing down with Ibuki.

The cover variants themselves are done by Gonzalo “Genzoman” Ordonez Arias, Jeffrey “Chamba” Cruz, Joe Vriens, and Steven “Kandoken” Mack. Check them out below.
