Before there was the Vita came the PSP, and the very first must-have title for it was Lumines.  Q Entertainment's musical puzzler was a deceptively simple beast, but like the best of Q co-founder Tetsuya Mizuguchi's games it infused its genre with a phenomenal soundtrack and presentation.  Drop squares composed of four blocks made up of two different colors into the well, make solid squares of color, and the light-bar that sweeps across the level at the speed of the beat clears out your creation as it passes.  Lumines Remastered came out last year for PS4 and Switch (and PC too) and now it's getting a physical release thanks to Limited Run Games.  The standard version on either PS4 or Switch is available to anyone who wants it thanks to a two-week open pre-order window, but getting the two deluxe editions may take some lightning-fast fingers the second the order window opens.

The Limited edition comes with game and double-disc vinyl soundtrack in a nice big box, 1,000 copies for PS4 and 2,000 copies for Switch, $64.99 for either version. The Ultimate Edition, though, is going to be crazy-hard to get.  It comes with the game, enameled pin, keychain, poster, exclusive colored vinyl variant album, a rigid light-up box to house everything in, and a certificate of authenticity signed by Tetsuya Mizuguchi.  There are a total of 1,000 units of this version divided up 400 on PS4 and 600 on Switch, $139.99 per version, and um... good luck?  I've already resigned myself to getting a standard version and maybe the separate soundtrack, but the temptation to engage in the 5-second feeding-frenzy that will be the 10AM and 6PM order windows on the Ultimate Edition is high.  It's not going to be an easy acquisition, and for the inevitable result here's The Rolling Stones with some classic advice.
