One of the more acclaimed and admittedly brutal 2D platformers in recent times, Super Meat Boy, has finally been dated for Wii U. The sadistically-challenging indie title will launch on Nintendo's eShop on May 12. Team Meat and BlitWorks have also elaborated on the game's transitioning to the Wii U in terms of its controls; both off-screen play as well as the Wii U Pro Controller will be supported.

Super Meat Boy originally launched all the way back in 2010 on Xbox 360 and PC and has recently seen the jump to current-gen platforms on PS4. Super Meat Boy will also go on sale during the first two weeks of its launch on the eShop.
