The end of March also marked the end of the fiscal year, leading to plenty of publishers sharing their financial results from the previous twelve months of sales, with the most recent example being Take-Two.

Between April 1, 2018 and March 31, 2019, Take-Two saw a net revenue of $2.67 billion, with 40% of that coming from in-game purchases. Notable titles that help drove those numbers were Grand Theft Auto V, which reached 110 million total copies shipped, Red Dead Redemption 2 at 24 million and NBA 2K19 at nine million. In the report, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick shared that the publisher’s future was equally promising, with “sequels from our biggest franchises” such as Borderlands 3 and NBA and WWE 2K20, “as well as exciting new IP” including The Outer Worlds and Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, building to the “strongest development pipeline in its history.”
