The good news for all Turtles fans out there is that TMNT will be getting a new side-scrolling action game coming out sometime this fall. The better news is that the game will be based on the popular Nickelodeon cartoon and not on the Michael Bay abomination of a film released earlier this year.

Titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Danger of the Ooze, the game is meant to serve as a link between seasons two and three of the cartoon series and provide a narrative bridge between the two. The game itself is equal parts platformer and action game, with an open, non-linear world to explore for power-ups and secrets. Turtles can be swapped on the fly, with each one packing their own special stats and skills that make them useful in different scenarios. It looks to be everything a Turtles fan could hope for except maybe a pizza. The game will see a fall release for the Xbox 360, PS3, and Nintendo 3DS.
