Well, this is an interesting way to announce that a game has gone gold. Instead of a five paragraph press release with a bunch of self-congragulatory mumbo jumbo and about one sentence that matters (although that’s sure to come), higher-ups at Naughty Dog have unleashed their excitement over social media. First, Naughty Dog Co-President, Christophe Balestra, tweeted out “This is happening right now…” and gave a link to this picture:

As you can see, the command “makedisc ship final” is clearly highlighted, which is the last step before a game goes gold. Fifty minutes after that, Creative Director, Neil Druckmann, tweeted the following:

So there you have it. Due out in just under a month on June 14, The Last of Us is finished and ready to go. Must be a relieving day at Naughty Dog.
