The Flame in the Flood will not receive any DLC or a season pass, developer The Molasses Flood has confirmed.

Speaking to Hardcore Gamer in an exclusive interview, The Molasses Flood co-founder and CEO Forrest Dowling revealed that the Boston-based studio is not working on any new content for its critically acclaimed adventure title.

“We made the game we wanted to and have moved on to our next project,” Dowling said. “We’re a small team and need to focus our efforts, and we felt it was best to aim for something new.”

According to Dowling, The Molasses Flood doesn’t “have any plans for a sequel” to The Flame in the Flood.

“We are working on a new project that shares some DNA with what we’ve done in the past, but it’s still way too early to talk about it,” he said.

The Flame in the Flood, which was launched through a 2014 Kickstarter campaign and successfully backed by the public, was the debut title for The Molasses Flood.

Founded in 2014, The Molasses Flood is comprised of developers with past experience at several studios, including Harmonix, Bungie and Irrational Games.

The Flame in the Flood is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and macOS. Earlier this month, a Nintendo Switch version of The Flame in the Flood was released.

The Flame in the Flood received a positive reception in Hardcore Gamer’s review, as our reviewer said that it “offers a genuinely new variation on the survival game theme, tuned, focused and confident in its execution.”
