Focus Home Interactive and Deck13 today announced The Surge 2, a sequel to the 2017 original.

Released during the spring of 2017, The Surge was a science fiction action-RPG that pulled inspiration from the Souls series of games. Players would use a customizable exoskeleton to battle enemies. The game had a unique concept with it's limb-targeting system, though stumbled in it's execution. Well, developer Deck13 has another chance to get it right with The Surge 2.

Taking to Facebook, Deck13 confirmed that they'll be working with publisher Focus Home Interactive again to bring The Surge 2 to consoles and PC. The sequel will have more ambitious level design, brutal combat, and an expanded limb-targeting system. There will be even more weapons and abilities for players to use to help them survive deadly new enemies and bosses.

The Surge 2 is scheduled to release in 2019 on consoles and PC. Expect to hear more about the game in the coming months.
