CD Projekt Red today narrowed down the window for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's next-gen upgrade.

Today marks the seventh anniversary of the critically acclaimed title. Released on May 19, 2015 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt received widespread praise for its storytelling, gameplay, world design, and presentation. Back in 2020, CD Projekt Red revealed that a next-gen version for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S was on the way, but it has since received multiple delays.

Taking to Twitter to celebrate the seventh anniversary of the beloved title, CD Projekt Red narrowed down the release window for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions; Q4 2022.

Q4 2022 takes place October 1 and runs through December 31. The next-gen version will arrive as a free update for owners of the PS4 and Xbox One versions with numerous visual and technical enhancements. At the time of the original announcement, the studio promised both ray tracing and faster loading times. Those who don't currently own a copy of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be able to purchase the next-gen version standalone.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt lands on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S later this year. The game is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. A fourth The Witcher title is currently in development at CD Projekt Red.
