It seemed like Valve were finally opening up to adult-oriented content on Steam. Unfortunately, lately they’ve continued to bar multiple titles for release – most of which are visual novels.
Top Hat Studios found their latest game, Cross Love, blocked from release as well. This state of affairs no doubt helped tip the company into creating their own storefront. It will be open to third party developers. The goal is to avoid the frustration and confusion of releasing on Steam.
The Top Hat Store, also known as Hat Rack, will not offer a client. Instead, expect a sort of Humble Store experience. They even plan to do bundles like Humble. The Top Hat Store’s expected to launch in Q1 2019.
