Developer Frozenbyte has announced today that its remastered version of Trine will release on PlayStation 4 on December 23, 2014.

Trine Enchanted Edition, already released on PC earlier this year, remakes the original Trine in the developer's Trine 2 engine. It will run in 1080p resolution at a locked 60 frames per second, and includes stereoscopic 3D as an option. No price was announced, nor any details about whether players who already purchased the PlayStation 3 version will need to pay for the upgrade; it was a free upgrade for PC players.

Trine was a puzzle-platformer released in 2009 that had players controlling three different heroes on a journey: a wizard, a knight, and a thief. It offered cooperative play so that two additional players could join in and all characters could then be controlled simultaneously.
