Its been a rocky fall for the games industry thanks to a slew of horrible launches. AAA games have launched left-and-right with a myriad of launch issues that have left some games unplayable for weeks. Ubisoft themselves have been hammered by players thanks to the inexcusable problems of Assassin's Creed: Unity, and the rushed nature of Assassin's Creed: Rogue. Ubisoft has one big game left to launch this holiday, The Crew, and they're confident it won't be broken at launch.

Lead Designer Serkan Hasan's optimism comes from the extensive beta testing his team has employed during the development. Ivory Tower has been holding betas all year across all platforms to ensure the problems that plagued Assassin's Creed: Unity, DriveClub, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and other titles won't plague The Crew. He also confirmed that The Crew will be native 1080p/30fps on PS4 and Xbox One.

"For The Crew, we’ve reaped the benefits of a long term beta program, designed specifically to push our infrastructure as far as possible in real world situations, with thousands of players from all over the world playing the game at the same time," Hasan told The Metropolist.

"We managed to get some time with the game pre release and it certainly did seem to be fairly stable, but the ten thousand or so closed beta participants and hundreds of thousands of people playing simultaneously are obviously two very different kettles of fish.

"The launch of any online game these days has potential issues, but I hope that players will be encouraged by our open approach. If you had any doubts that we could pull this off, I hope that the betas proved our credentials and the game’s stability."

We'll see for ourselves whether The Crew can launch problem-free when it launches December 2 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Xbox 360.
