It hasn't been the most cheery or even impressive of months for good ole' Nintendo as of late. And following some less-than-satisfactory scores for their most recent first-party exclusives in Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash & Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival, the news doesn't seem to get much better if you're in the UK. Both titles have failed altogether to enter the Top 40 for this week's chart though more acclaimed hits in Mario Kart 8 & Splatoon remain active if far from the high spots.

But the collective reaction of both fans and critics alike has resulted in Nintendo's worst Metacritic rating for roughly ten years with none of November's Wii U's releases reaching above an average score of 70 - the last title to score above the score being Octodad: Dadliest Catch - a game that finally found its way onto the Nintendo eShop eighteen months after its debut on PC and well over a year after its current-gen console debut on PS4.
