PC gamers know about Steam Early Access - and that trend of early releases of games has expanded n recent years. Game funding and publishing platform Fig is starting something with a similar-sounding name and purpose.

Known as Open Access, this allows indie developers to run funding campaigns with no explicit end date. Instead, the funding campaign gets tied to their development roadmap. This is a bit more structured than Steam's model.

The first two games arriving on Open Access are Vagrus - The Riven Realms and Pegleg. Pegleg mixes together pinball and tower defense and launches on Fig on May 15. Vagrus, on the other hand, is a post-apocalyptic SRPG. It is already live on Fig.
