Games developed and created by Valve aren't the most frequent thing to hear about, but today -- during a media round-table at the company's headquarters in Bellevue, Washington -- Valve's very own Gabe Newell announced that the company is planning to make three VR games. Though they've already released The Lab, Newell reaffirmed these new projects will be full games as opposed to mere tech demos -- a common complaint in the community as to why VR hasn't quite got off to the grandest of starts from a commercial stand-point.

"When I say we're building three games, we're building three full games, not experiments," Newell explained. "What we can do now is we can be designing hardware at the same time that we're designing software. This is something that [Shigeru] Miyamoto has always had. He's had the ability to think about what the input device is and design a system while he designs games. Our sense is that this will actually allow us to build much better entertainment experiences for people."

Don't expect these future titles to come cheap, or better put, to support competitor's peripherals (for obvious reasons); Valve's own HTC Vive though more expensive, is considered the more powerful device out of the two or three popular headsets yet will be something, Newell continues, Valve will be exploring further as technology only advances in the coming years. How this will feed into the end cost for both hardware and software, we'll just have to wait and see. Though Newell didn't offer any information or premises on what these three supposed games would revolve around, he has confirmed that they are currently being built around both the Source 2 & Unity engines.
