Between now and January 2, Winter Wonderland 2019 is live in Overwatch on PC, PlayStation, Switch and Xbox One. This event introduces a new game mode, weekly challenges and some new cosmetic items. The new game is Snowball Deathmatch, which is an 8-player free for all deathmatch. Everyone will play as Mei with a modified Mei snowball gun, which may look familiar to those who recall Mei’s Snowball Offensive. In this mode Mei will have a new catching ability, allowing you to catch an enemy snowball and add it to your count. First player to 15 eliminations wins.

Weekly challenges will allow players to unlock limited time rewards by winning nine games that include an array of player icons, sprays and epic skins. The reward skins for each week of the even are Ugly Sweater Soldier (Epic) for the first week, Holly Moira (Epic) and Snow Angel Mercy (Epic) for the third. Other new cosmetic items include the four legendary skins Jotunn Doomfist, Mountain Man McCree, Rat King Reaper, Rime Sigma along with player icons and sprays.
