Western Yakuza fans have always had a bit of a rough time since the original's launch on PS2. It always seems that this series' future in the west is always unknown, and we've already missed out on multiple spin-offs. Kurohyo: Ryu ga Gotoku Shinsho - translated to Yakuza: Black Panther - on PSP is just one of them.

A fan translation began in 2014 and has been progressing steadily since. Recently, a team member announced that all of chapter 1 is translated and 55% of cutscenes are already complete. English-language screenshots were also released. Sure, there's still a ton of text to go, but progress is great to see.

One thing they're not ready to share is a release window. Yakuza: Black Panther's fan translation might make it in 2016, but there's certainly no guarantee.
